Finances & Provision
“Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken but the Lord upholds the righteous.”
Psalms 37:16-17
“Dishonest money dwindles away but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow”
Proverbs 13:11
There was a very poignant time in my life where I experienced multiple means of attack and
oppression: through defaming, betrayal, and depletion of finances.
My first employer straight out of all my years of training in my profession, started out seemingly just, as his corrupt means progressively began to unfold. Me, being wide eyed, trusting, and surrounded in typical large school debt, took the job rather promptly without any doubts. It was later revealed that transactions of billing fraud, mistresses on the receiving end from a layer of our earnings who were staff, and even a background of siblings in this family business, being involved in witchcraft and soothsaying were underway. Not an exaggeration! In the time I discovered all via my colleagues, I left abruptly but with proper notice. Thereafter, bore a series of attacks where I was singled out as his target, being the highest earning employee at the time – from litigation and accusations of soliciting clients, and then the unthinkable... a wrongful larceny charge due to an error not of my own but admittedly by a bank teller in transferring money from his account to mine. The account was apparently still unsevered from my prior employment, when the intention was to have it made between my business and personal accounts it was taken from his! This fiasco on the part of the teller led to jeopardizing my license to work completely! In the midst of continuing loss of money to legally protect myself, false accusations and errors that were career threatening, to lawyers who ultimately betrayed and complied with the opposition, and finally, a large settlement I conceded to in closing to spare more agony in what seemed to be a losing battle, God showed me how He always shows up, how faith in submission to Him wins the spiritual battle against the wicked in High places. Each week I learned to fully lean into Him as my sole source for all and I prayed for the exact amounts monetarily for overhead in a business I began as a means – i.e. God always provided a few cents more as His sense of humor in response to me! I remained generous to my staff, but moreover, always gave in faith, even if in a small portion, to the church, and also to support ministries organized by friends out in the mission fields of London and Haiti, and indeed, outcomes of prosperity and restoration were to follow! New legal counsel to defend and clear my name, the blessing of marriage, the birth of our child, a prospering business where I worked unto the Lord, while shining the light of His compassion to help heal others, and growing mission fields budded. In just 1.5 years God gave me double blessings to help me make back the money I owed towards the settlement, shortly after I experienced the generosity of my extended family in their lending support to eradicate my Goliath quickly through a collaborative loan from them. God is good! He is the faithful and wise and generous giver of all gifts from above and our trust should remain in Him to deliver us through all trials especially in our finances.
Be blessed!
