DAY 9
January 21, 2025
Pastor Priscilla Perumalla
DC+ Churches, Provision, The Communities
As individuals of the church, we are multifaceted, yet focused on an overarching goal found in Galatians 5:14: For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].
Each one of us holds a place and a purpose in the body of Christ. Without each one of us and our unique abilities or resources, the health and full range of the Body would be incomplete.
In my life I have learned that if you are unsure of your place or purpose, there is no better place to start than by giving of yourself. Placing yourself in areas and situations that compel you to love others as yourself—expelling selfish tendencies and habits—can illuminate your purpose. What a beautiful thing to fill our lives with opportunities that shape us to look more like Jesus!
I wonder, if we paused to take inventory of our choices, how many of them would be centered around building the kingdom of God? Not having a ministerial position does not excuse us from being builders. We are all called to build.
As a church, we have a unique opportunity to serve and love our neighbors well. We have real-time opportunities to build His church. I am so thankful that God has blessed us with the avenue of the Dream Center NYC. It’s the perfect place to start if you don’t know how or where to begin loving in the way God has commanded and created us to love.
The Word of God says kindness leads to repentance, and it’s so wonderful that we are surrounded by so many opportunities to exude the kindness of our great God!
