“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.”

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

This scripture is a reminder that regardless of what circumstances we find ourselves in - no matter the hand we have been dealt in life - it will soon pass.

Maybe for you it’s personal and you are facing challenges between friends and family or sickness and loss. However surprised and unprepared you feel about the circumstance you find yourself in, God is never caught off-guard.

Maybe you find yourself overwhelmed by the news. It is no secret that our world is divided between education, religious beliefs, personal medical decisions, and political views - and that’s just naming a few. These last few years have felt like a curveball thrown at us all.

The good news is that, no matter how we feel, we can remember that we are all children of a great, living, and compassionate God. Despite the things we are currently experiencing in our lives, when we put God first, we can better face the challenges before us..

Since 2020, my family and I have been on a difficult journey. We experienced illness and financial uncertainties, and we to lost loved ones. Sometimes I fail to understand why these things happen, and I can get caught in a mindset that causes me to believe that I am the only one experiencing hardship.

From that, I carry the fear and loneliness that comes with uncertainty and the anger and frustration that comes along with the unfamiliar or uncontrollable.

Still, I am encouraged by 1 Corinthians 10:13 which says,

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, That you may be able to bear it. "

My word for you today? This too shall pass! Always focus on God, stay in prayer, and wait for Him to tell you the next right thing to do. This way, we will not be tempted to step outside of His will - no matter what curveball is thrown our way.
