DAY 6

January 13, 2024

Leanna Perez

The month of December was a bit of a whirlwind for me. There were some unexpected family circumstances that I needed to be present for, ongoing family health challenges, uncertainty at work, and sickness over the holidays. All while wanting to celebrate the Christmas season and the joy that it brings. I felt pulled in a million directions and it was draining. The tiredness was not physical, more emotional, mental and spiritual, to the point that I was barely praying for any of these things. It felt like I didn’t have it in me to bring one more thing before the Lord and ask for His help. Have you ever felt this way? I’m sure I’m not alone.

Despite everything spinning around in life, despite my lack of seeking the Lord, He provided. Countless friends and loved ones reached out, checked in, and PRAYED for EVERYTHING. When I couldn’t, God provided those who could.

I’ve been reflecting on the last month and settling into the goodness and grace that was surrounding me. It made me think of Exodus 17, when Moses was accompanied by Aaron and Hur to the top of the hill and Moses was tasked with holding up the staff of God while Joshua and the Israelites fought against the Amalekites.

“As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning. When Moses’ arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.” Exodus 17:11-13

When Moses was tired, the people of God stood beside him, held him up and the victory was won.

As we are in this time of prayer and fasting, maybe you are feeling tired. Too tired to go to God, too overwhelmed to know where to start, caught in the midst of the whirlwind of life. Be encouraged, God provides. You have a family at The Grace Place that is standing beside you to lift you up.

And if that isn’t you, then I encourage you to petition before the Lord for the needs of others. Be Aaron or Hur to someone that is weary, and together we will see victory.
